The list below, the first part in a series brought to you by the Metaverse Insider, briefly describes five of the most exciting augmented reality companies in the AR industry.

1. Interaptix

Based in Toronto, Canada, Interaptix was founded in 2013 by Bardia Bina and is a venture-backed augmented reality company working at the intersection of mixed reality, HCI, machine learning (ML), and computer vision to fundamentally revolutionize how people interact with the world and one another.

Focused on building core technologies to solve the industry’s biggest challenges to AR’s mass adoption, Interaptix is funded by some of the most prominent tech investors and entrepreneurs.

2. Goopy

Goopy is a large platform to build Augmented Reality and Image Recognition for Interactive experiences using our Goopy Studio (Cloud Web Editor).

Goopy’s AR Studio is your one-stop-shop for generating and managing target collections. As well as for creating and publishing AR experiences. Goopy Studio (Cloud Web Editor) is the best-in-class tool to create your own high-quality Augmented Reality experience just in a couple of clicks.

Founded in 2018 by Francisco Viloria, Goopy is a Florida-based startup.

3. flyAR

flyAR is a Vantaa, Finland-based creative AR Studio focusing on custom augmented reality productions. Many companies working in the XR industry develop technology and platforms. However,  flyAR’s focus is on designing and implementing top-quality content. At the moment, the company uses mostly Zappar, Spark AR Studio, Unity and Immersal to augment reality. They are constantly on the lookout for good new additions to our toolbox.

flyAR has worked on various types of augmented realities ranging from simple video content on product packaging to more complex laser-scanned point-cloud data visualization, digital vinyl records, robot simulation, giant hockey goalies, BIM-data visualization, and plenty of “living scale models”, experimental ARt, event posters etc.

In addition to augmenting reality, the startup also offers consultation around AR topics and custom-tailored AR workshops.

Frans Tihveräinen and Eero Salminen  founded flyAR in 2017. Between them,  they have  over 14 years of combined experience in the realm of XR.

In the five years since it went into business. FlyAR has raised a modest $40,000 in outside funding over two rounds.

4. JoinPad

JoinPad is a leading global Augmented Reality company founded in 2010 by Mauro Rubin. With the HQ based in Italy, JoinPad has today business offices located in the US and China.

The company develops and distributes Augmented Reality solutions, including the related consultancy. Which is aimed at simplifying the customer’s industrial business processes. Therefore, providing innovative tools to interact with the environment.

5. ROAR

ROAR is a SaaS No-Code AR Content creation and management platform which enables businesses and brands to create, deploy and manage AR content at scale.

With headquarters in East Hanover, New Jersey. Oksana Sokolovsky founded ROAR in 2016. It raised an undisclosed amount during an Angel round back in 2018.
