A fundamental agreement to establish the Japan Metaverse Economic Zone and build the Open Metaverse Infrastructure known as “RYUGUKOKU” has been announced by JCB Co, Fujitsu Ltd., Mitsubishi Corporation, and several other tech companies. This innovation represents a key step towards the development of immersive and virtual reality technology in the future.

People can interact with one another in a variety of ways in the metaverse, a virtual environment. The metaverse has gained attention in the IT community as virtual reality and other immersive technologies gain popularity. Although the concept of building a connected virtual world has been for a long time, new technological advancements have made it a practical reality.

The goal of the RYUGUKOKU project is to construct an open infrastructure that different businesses and people may use to design and run a variety of services in the metaverse. Users can access services in a gamified style thanks to the platform’s virtual world role-playing game (RPG) foundation.

It is anticipated that the Japan Metaverse Economic Zone, which will be established as part of this initiative, will serve as a hub for businesses engaged in the metaverse.

This initiative is important not only because of the potential economic advantages but also because of the prospective technological breakthroughs. Companies can concentrate on developing their services without having to worry about establishing the underlying technology by building an open infrastructure for the metaverse. This might speed up innovation and give users more engaging virtual experiences.
