University of Liverpool’s Success with IES Digital Twin

The University of Liverpool has piloted a digital twin developed by IES, a digital twin development company.

IES Live, the digital twin, is a collaborative effort between the University of Liverpool and IES, a digital twin development company. This partnership was formed with the aim of enhancing the efficiency of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) within the university. The digital twin, a product of this collaboration, allows stakeholders to monitor performance and efficiency.

Implementing the digital twin has been effective across the board, resulting in a 23% reduction in energy consumption and around 25,000 work savings in operational costs.

All in all, digital twin implementation at the University of Liverpool showcases the huge potential of twin implementation in improving the operational costs of organizations due to increased efficiency and risk mitigation.

The University of Liverpool is just one organization utilizing digital twins to improve operations. Industrial players like Siemens are working with partners to deploy digital twins globally. For example, Freyr, the renowned battery company, has been successfully using digital twins to improve efficiency.
