Zollikofen, CH (April 16, 2024) – Xovis has deployed a Passenger Flow Management System (PFMS) at a busy security checkpoint at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
Selected because of its high degree of accuracy and intuitive user interface, the PFMS was successfully implemented in a matter of months. A solution that could be installed with limited disruptions in the terminal space was a must for YVR, which handled 24.9 million passengers in 2023 traveling within Canada and the US as well as international destinations.
“Our Digital Twin has transformed the way YVR operates and requires the highest quality, objective data to support our proactive decision-making processes,” said Tamara Vrooman, President & CEO at Vancouver International Airport. “The system provided to us by Xovis allows us to capture real-time information at critical passenger processing points, as well as providing historical data which supports our future capacity planning.”
Accuracy, resistance to light interference, flexibility, and scalability have helped make Xovis the preferred people flow management service provider for airports globally. The company’s one-stop-shop approach to delivering a world-class solution and technical support for all project phases continues to earn the trust of airports of different sizes, including new build projects and modernizations.
“Data-based simulations are nothing short of revolutionary for many industries and businesses. And as more companies look to harness the awesome potential of Digital Twins, the focus necessarily shifts to the quality of the underlying data,” Florian Eggenschwiler, Xovis’ Chief Product Officer, said. “For precise real-time and historical data resistant to light distortions, airports look to Xovis.”
More than 110 airports, including multiple terminals in Canada, already use the Xovis PFMS to optimize operations, manage costs and enhance the passenger experience.
