According to the research, digital twins are currently used in predictive maintenance, resource optimization, and the real-time monitoring of water waste treatment. Furthermore, the study also highlights the use of the Internet of Things to increase efficiency and optimization further. 

To conclude, the researchers suggest measures to utilize digital twins, including further integration with water waste treatment, more focus on environmental use cases, and improved data analysis.
