A recent article published by Fior Reports and authored by Axel Lorenz, the CEO of Siemens Process Automation, has outlined digital twins’ role in scaling up hydrogen production.
Writing for the journal, Mr. Lorenz outlined how digital twins can effectively decarbonize sectors and boost hydrogen production as a more environmentally friendly fuel source.
Effectively, digital twins can cut costs and improve efficiency during hydrogen production due to being able to digitally simulate a production lifecycle of a hydrogen plant before it has been physically implemented.
Similarly, Mr. Lorenz outlined that digital twins make scaling-up processes for electrolyzers more efficient, reducing commissioning costs and saving time in the long run, making it easy to scale hydrogen plants. Furthermore, digital twins also improve the process of implementing hydrogen plants into existing energy systems, making the software a critical tool for energy suppliers.
