PRESS RELEASE – Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division announced that IP Telecom – Infraestruturas de Portugal Group, one of Portugal’s largest fiber optic providers, selected Hexagon solutions for planning, maintaining and optimizing the company’s nationwide fiber network.

IP Telecom’s extensive network includes nearly 7,000 km of cables delivering services to customers across the country, including Portugal’s national rail and road infrastructure. The Hexagon digital twin solutions will increase the daily productivity and enable IP Telecom to provide a more resilient communications network that can be expanded effectively and efficiently. Having a real-time digital representation will enable staff to pinpoint problems as they arise with immediate GPS coordinates, speeding repairs and minimizing disruptions for customers.

The company will use the full HxGN Networks Comms Core suite – including desktop, web and mobile applications — in concert with M.App Enterprise for customized dashboard generation. Crews in the field will have the same real-time information as desktop operators through their mobile devices, giving them vital information wherever they are.
