Ministry of Economy in UAE Inaugurates New Headquarters in the Metaverse

Two Announcements

In July, the Metaverse Insider reported that Hamdan bin Muhammad, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, had launched the Dubai Metaverse strategy, announcing it via his Twitter account, an initiative aiming to create 40,000 virtual jobs by the end of the decade and help with the government’s vision of increasing the number of blockchain companies to five times the current number. A few weeks ago, we also announced Dubai was going to be the world’s first virtual city in the Metaverse.

Access to Anyone

Today, we can tell you that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Economy has announced a new headquarters located in the Metaverse, giving access to anyone wherever they are in the world.

According to a report in Gulf News yesterday, the announcement was made by UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri during the Dubai Metaverse Assembly, with the minister stating “this is not a proof of concept, this is our third address” before giving a live tour of the virtual headquarters.

Digital Services

As far as we know, the headquarters will be made up of a multiple-story building, each level designed for a specific purpose, and will include an auditorium designed to hold virtual conferences and other events and meeting rooms that allow users to share a screen. Visitors will be able to take a ticket, which will prompt a “customer happiness centre employee” to join the Metaverse and interact with the visitor.

With two offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai already, the new headquarters will allow the ministry to make digital services a bigger part of its operations following directives to do so from UAE leadership.

Visitors to the virtual headquarters will be able to sign legally binding documents, which eliminates the need for signatories to visit one of their physical locations to provide their signatures.
