Insider Brief

  • AVEVA has reached a strategic agreement with AWS.
  • The partnership will enhance cloud-based solutions for industrial customers.

PRESS RELEASE– AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, driving digital transformation and sustainability, has announced a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Their enhanced collaboration will support industrial customers by enabling cloud delivery of the latest AVEVA applications as integrated, out-of-the-box Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.

AVEVA is collaborating with AWS to solve interoperability challenges with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The lack of workability across data models can be a barrier for customers interested in digital twins, while creating data models is costly and time-consuming. AVEVA and AWS are looking to create mapping capability on AWS platforms, which could decrease time-to-value, while reducing data management complexity across data silos and industrial data standards.

The AVEVA AWS SCA brings substantial value to its customers. The collaboration with AWS enables AVEVA to further extend its advantages across various industries, such as chemicals and food and beverage, making its solutions more accessible than ever.

With AVEVA’s transition to cloud-based solutions, access to affordable and agile technologies is enhanced across all industry sectors. This ongoing transformation underscores AVEVA’s commitment to democratizing access to advanced engineering solutions and leveling the playing field for businesses across all industries.

Cloud-based interoperable solutions will help drive faster performance for our customers. Processes will be expedited to weeks from months, significantly reducing time-to-market for our existing customers.

Furthermore, cloud-based solutions eliminate the need for extensive IT involvement and maintenance, paving the way for faster innovation cycles and streamlined deployment processes.

Companies all around the world are already benefitting from AVEVA and AWS solutions. Take, for example, Norway’s Aker Carbon Capture, which designs and builds facilities for companies in carbon-intensive industries, such as cement, steel, and oil and gas. AVEVA’s Unified Engineering in the cloud helps Aker Carbon Capture create efficient and replicable designs for carbon capture units, and AVEVA’s AWS-based software allows teams to collaborate across time zones, resulting in an increase in operational efficiency and time to market by over 50%.

At ACHEMA, the world’s top processing technology show, AVEVA is showcasing how a digital transformation strategy can tackle energy security while meeting net-zero commitments. At the AWS stand (Hall 11, Booth E81), AVEVA is demonstrating that digital innovation and sustainability are two sides of the same coin.

Dr Tobias Schelee, Sr. Vice President, Products, AVEVA, said: “With disruption being the new normal, industrial organizations must contend with various challenges, from supply chain limitations to growing competition and labor scarcity. Thanks to our strong relationship with AWS, AVEVA is helping industrial customers leverage AI and cloud technologies to enhance real-time collaboration, seamlessly integrate information, run sophisticated analyses, and ultimately achieve an interconnected system that transcends individual silos for powerful performance.”

Uwem Ukpong, AWS VP Global Services, commented: “The strategic collaboration between AWS and AVEVA enables industrial companies to get to the next level of collaborative engineering and value creation. Together, we offer our customers a flexible and secure environment for cloud-based engineering to be enhanced by generative AI.”

AVEVA has also achieved AWS Manufacturing and Industrial Competency Partner status, recognizing the company’s expertise in providing professional services and software solutions for industrial manufacturing. As an AWS Manufacturing and Industrial Competency Partner, AVEVA follows best practices to build secure, resilient and efficient cloud infrastructure for industry applications.

AVEVA and AWS are helping to enable the transformation of the industrial sector by delivering differentiated, innovative solutions that will shape a globally sustainable future. In addition to achieving the AWS Manufacturing and Industrial Competency, AVEVA is also one of fewer than ten AWS Energy Competency Partners in the New Energies category.

AVEVA leads on sustainable innovation and collaborates with partners like AWS to drive sustainable innovation, aiming for a net-zero world. Leveraging the extensive service capabilities and AVEVA’s tailored industrial SaaS solutions, enterprises efficiently manage energy needs, optimize operations, and measure emissions in alignment with sustainability goals. This approach fosters agility and resilience in a dynamic market.
