Singapore Institute of Technology Unveils Digital Twin for Punggol Campus Microgrid

Leading researchers at the Singapore Institute of Technology have developed a digital twin of the Punggol Campus microgrid in Singapore.

The digital twin looks to improve the resilience and efficiency of microgrids and predictive maintenance to prevent equipment faults and issues such as power surges.

The Energy Market Authority and Singapore Institute of Technology funded the project as part of the $20 million EDGE program.

In the future, these microgrids are planned for expansion to improve the operational efficiency of grids across educational institutions. The digital twin aims to increase foreign investment and provide educational opportunities to students and researchers implementing digital twins.
